Loup Frontier Tech Index
The Loup Frontier Tech Index tracks the performance of publicly-traded companies that influence the future of technology including AI, robotics, autonomous vehicles, computer perception, and virtual and augmented reality.
Major technology shifts tend to happen every 10-15 years. We had the PC in the 80s, the Internet in the 90s, and the smartphone in the mid-2000s. Now we’re due for the next major shift. This time the shift is likely to take form of multiple new technologies combining to build off of the three revolutions before.
AI will be the centerpiece, enabling intelligent robots to perceive and interact with the environment around them as we move into the Automation Age. Simultaneously, humans will demand more engaging ways to interact with information. Virtual and augmented reality will provide creators new ways to deliver more compelling experiences to consumers.
We’ve created the Loup Frontier Tech Index to track this next wave of technology via a rules-based product that combines our decades of experience as technology-focused equity analysts with unique insights derived from analyzing and investing in frontier tech startups.
Broad Category Exposure
While other indexes exist to track particular industry verticals like AI or robotics, the index follows the broader category of frontier tech, encompassing a range of categories that will combine to create the next major technological revolution.
Lesser Known Names
The index focuses on companies with less public exposure and outside the widely-owned mega-cap tech stocks (over $250 billion market cap) like Apple, Google, and Facebook.
The Loup Frontier Tech Index begins equal weighted, but is adjusted with a conviction weighting that overweights the companies growing and projected to grow revenue, EPS, and cash flow the fastest.
How to Invest
We’ve licensed the index to Innovator Capital Management as the basis for the Innovator Loup Frontier Tech ETF on the NYSE Arca under ticker LOUP. You can find more information on this product and how to invest through Innovator Capital Management.
